RAA Service of Remembrance
We have just had what was probably the best ever Service of Remembrance organised by the RAA. It took place, as usual, on 1st Saturday in July at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire. This year an estimated 480 to 500 members and guests attended along with a good turnout of serving soldiers. We were very ably supported by Cadet detachments from Lowestoft and Leek who did themselves proud by getting fully involved with the events with very little time for rehearsal.
Our special thanks go to the RASM and his team and all the serving Gunners who turned out to give us their support this year.
And let’s not forget the Band of 103rd Regiment and Carl (from Leicester) our very own RAA Piper. All of whom not only provide music but also add colour, flair and style to the whole event.
A full report will eventually appear in The Gunner magazine but for now.......
